DICHA CHICHA
Dicha Chicha is a series of traditional Latin American beverages called "chicha" designed to bring back the importance of the beverage in Latino culture as it is no longer commonly
consumed. Chicha comes in various flavors;
corn is always the main ingredient, but other ingredients vary depending on the region and country. Historically, ancient Latino
communities used chicha in ceremonies
to celebrate life, and this inspired the concept of "celebrating life." Each conceptual name consists
of one country's local slang term for a party or celebration, plus the word "dicha" which
describes happiness and contentment.
Chicha has become an integral part of the culture of
the countries chosen for this set. Their bottle is designed to pay homage to the things that make
Latin America so special, the people. Details of the clothing were incorporated into each flavour to represent how crops and animals found in the area are reflected in symbols. These neck labels also feature traditional patterns as well as a symbol that represents the corn base in each beverage. The bottles are also colour coded according to their alcoholic content: red for alcoholic chicha and blue for
non-alcoholic chicha.
